I will take a no-nonsense approach to developing responsible budgets, ensuring financial transparency, and advocating for fair, equitable pay raises for all personnel within the Sheriff’s Office. This is not just about retention—it’s about attracting the best talent to serve our community. To achieve these goals, I will work hand-in-hand with county commissioners and city officials, forging relationships that create real, lasting change.

Additionally, I will pursue National Certifications for our agency, ensuring that we adhere to the highest law enforcement standards. This commitment to excellence will guarantee that we use the most effective tactics while maintaining humane jail facilities. It will also serve to protect our community from costly lawsuits by demonstrating our proactive approach to law enforcement.

Crime Reduction Initiatives:

The Sheriff’s Office will take proactive steps to actively seek extra funding through initiatives based on grants at the Federal, State, and local levels. Our particular emphasis will be on tailoring these initiatives to yield concrete advantages for law enforcement agencies. In my role as Sheriff, I am committed to tackling issues of violent crime, jail overcrowding, and the illicit drug trade within the county. I will collaborate closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, aiming to establish a stronger partnership and garner support from both state and federal entities.

Budget:

As Sheriff, I recognize the significant responsibility entrusted to me by the citizens I serve. I will be a conscientious steward of the tax funds allocated to the Sheriff’s Budget, ensuring that every dollar is spent wisely and effectively. Wasteful spending will not be tolerated, and oversight will be at the forefront of every financial decision.
Transparency will be a cornerstone of my administration. I will establish a clear, accountable, and structured budget strategy that is focused on enhancing public safety and security. This approach will be rooted in a rational, thoughtful methodology, prioritizing the most impactful initiatives to protect our communities.
In addition, the Sheriff’s Office will actively seek supplementary funding through federal, state, and local grants. However, these funding efforts will not be pursued recklessly. We will focus on securing targeted grants that directly benefit our law enforcement efforts and provide tangible improvements to our community’s safety and well-being.
My commitment is to eliminate waste, maximize resources, and ensure that every dollar works for the betterment of public safety. Together, we will build a more efficient, effective, and accountable Sheriff’s Office.

Community Oriented Initiatives:

A safe county is a clean and beautified county. As your elected Sheriff, I will establish an initiative to utilize inmate labor to assist with cleaning the roads, byways, and communities within the county.

As Sheriff, my priority will be to address the escalating issues of violent crime, including gang violence and active shooter situations, which threaten the safety of our communities. To combat these challenges, we will expand training opportunities for residents, empowering them to take an active role in their own safety. This includes offering instruction in first aid, how to respond to active shooter situations, firearms safety, and how to effectively report potential criminal activity. I will promote a “see something, say something” approach, encouraging citizens to be vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their neighborhoods.
These initiatives will extend to law enforcement agencies as well. By introducing a Community-Oriented Initiative, we will create a Sheriff’s Explorers Program, which aims to engage the youth in a meaningful way. This program will foster a connection with law enforcement based on trust and credibility, ensuring that the next generation views law enforcement as allies in keeping their communities safe.
Through these comprehensive efforts, we will create a stronger, safer environment for all residents, while equipping both the public and law enforcement with the tools needed to address violent crimes head-on.
